...is a study of the book of Proverbs, written by Stan Mitchell. Brother Mitchell explains: Proverbs 1:1-6 forms a preface to the book. It begins with a remarkable explanation of the book's purpose, namely, to provide the young and naive with the wisdom necessary to face life's complex choices and dangers. It ends with a motto that could be applied to the remainder of the book: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisedom and discipline."

Stan Mitchell was born in Abilene, TX in 1956, the son of missionaries to Zimbabwe, Loy and Donna Mitchell. He grew up and received his education through high school in Africa. he has a BA and MA in Biblical studies from Abilene Christian University, and a Master of Divinity from Peperdine. He has done mission work in Zimbabwe for ten years, preached for ten years in California, and is currently the Minister of the Word for the church of Christ in Borger, TX.
