Homosexuality

----- The Question -----
The next time you feel that you need to pass messages along to others
that are anti-gay or anti-feminist or anti-any woman or man who chooses
a different lifestyle than what you believe is right please go back and
read the purpose you have put on this web page. It sounds real pretty
but do you really think Jesus would have been anti-gay? The Jesus I
learned of loved everyone!!!!!!! Do you all really practice this
purpose in your daily lives? Probably not because you are human and so
are all the people you seem quick to blame for the downfall of our
society. The people at your church look up to you more than you
think. It would be nice if you focused on what Jesus was really about
loving one another , treating others as you would like to be treated. Do
you know any gay people? They are not all wicked evil child molesters.
There are plenty of heterosexuals to fill those shoes. There is evil all
around us and we should not target certain people to lay the blame.
Human beings in general have the ability to do evil and if we lay the
blame on certain members of the human race we are giving our children a
false sense of security. It is not the gays or the feminists fault
those boys in Colorado killed their classmates! We don't know why they
did it maybe being ridiculed every day of their lives by the beautiful
people for being different had something to do with
it...................just something to think about from a person who
believes that Jesus really knew what he was talking about when he said
to love one another.
----- Andy's Answer -----
I will never agree that this "lifestyle" is okay, but I will also never hurt
anyone because of how they decide to live. No matter how much I disagree
with what someone does, I will never believe it is right to hurt them.
Jesus never accepted a sinful "lifestyle" into his kingdom, but he died
for all who have sinned. And Romans 3:23 says, "All have sinned!"
He didn't die for righteous, if there are any. He died for all who are
sinners, and the ungodly and those who hated him--Romans 5:6-10. He never
said they could come to him "just as they were" without the understanding
that they would become just like him. Remember the first words in Jesus'
ministry were "Repent! for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
It isn't because he doesn't love us that he wants us to change. It isn't
because he hates us that many will be lost. "God is not willing that ANY
should perish but that ALL should come to repentance" It is because we have
chosen to rebel against him and his word that we will be lost. Our
sins--YOURS AND MINE--have caused us to be lost, WHATEVER the sin may be,
that of homosexual activities or that of sinful heterosexual activities. No
sin is acceptable, but Jesus died so we could be forgiven. He was raised so
we could have new life.
Does Jesus ever say homosexual activity is wrong? Yes, He does:
Matthew 15:19--For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.
The word fornication according to Strong's Lexicon means:
illicit sexual intercourse
1a) adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc.
1b) sexual intercourse with close relatives; Lev. 18
1c) sexual intercourse with a divorced man or woman; Mk. 10:11,12
Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon, (Oak Harbor, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc.) 1995.
Does that mean we should hate homosexuals? No. Does that mean we should hurt homosexuals? No. It does mean we should help them come to a penitent relationship with the Lord just like all other sinners.
