Our Father in Heaven almost two thousand years ago sent His Son Jesus Christ to be born and live as a man in this world He created. A prophet of GOD, Isaiah foretold nearly 700 years before Jesus' birth that He would be born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit whom the Father sent.
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"-- which means, "God with us." Matthew 1:20-23.
Jesus Christ came to this world for one purpose only. He and our Father in Heaven determined Jesus would die as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. Without His priceless gift of life all men were condemned to die for their sins, because all have sinned against GOD and man. As it is written:
There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Romans 3:10-12.
GOD still loved His children whom He created.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8.
Without Jesus' sacrifice for mankind, all men were condemned to torment in eternal hell. GOD provided the way to forgive man by sending Jesus into the world.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. John 3:16-18.
There is no other name in Heaven or on earth through which mankind can be saved. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12.
Jesus came to this world to show mankind how loving a GOD our creator is? He came to heal man, not to destroy even though mankind did nothing good to deserve forgiveness. Jesus often showed His ability to heal man physically as well as spiritually.
Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!" Jesus stopped and called them. "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked. "Lord," they answered, "we want our sight. "Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.Matthew 20:30-34.
At another time Jesus healed a leper.
A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. Mark 1:40-42.
Jesus does not heal men with diseases through miracles today. He is in Heaven with our Heavenly Father. GOD gave this power to His Son for a purpose.
Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.John 20:30-31.
Even though Jesus was the Son of God, mankind hated Him.
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: 'They hated me without reason.' John 15:22-25.
He never sinned and yet mankind attempted to find fault with Him. Because Jesus exposed their sin, mankind hung the Son of GOD on a wooden cross.
He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:22-25.
On one day nearly two thousand years ago, mankind handed the Son of GOD over to a governor to die.
Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" asked the governor. "Barabbas," they answered. "What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?" Pilate asked. They all answered, "Crucify him! 'Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!" When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of this man's blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!" All the people answered, "Let his blood be on us and on our children!" Matthew 27:21-25.
Even while hanging on the cross about to die the Lord Jesus prayed to our Heavenly Father.
When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals-- one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Luke 23:33-34
Death could not keep the Son of GOD in the grave. After three days some of His followers went to His grave site. They were met by an angel of GOD.
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." Matthew 28:5-10
Jesus Christ was with our Father in Heaven in the beginning before the world was made.
Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. John 17:3-5
His offer of eternal life has been open throughout the ages. Will you not come to Him so that He may give you eternal life?
